そこで

Accordingly, Now, Therefore, To that end

Explanation

「そこで」 goes at the start of a sentence and means 'so' or 'therefore'. The first sentence states a situation, a problem or a chance, and the next says what you did about it on purpose. The logic is 'faced with A, so I actively do B'. For example, you say something is difficult, then 「そこで」 introduces the way you decided to try.

Mixed up with

After 「そこで」 usually comes a deliberate action by the speaker (deciding to do something, trying a new method).

「そのため」 is a neutral cause and effect: the cause simply leads to the result.

「それで」 is casual 'so' or 'and then'. It can lead to a result or to a question: 「それで、どうなったの?」

When the first sentence is a difficulty and the second is a measure, choose 「そこで」.
