After having a discussion with my husband, we have decided that we are getting a divorce.

Explanation

Follows a verb in the た form, or a noun + の (also 「あげくに」「あげくの果てに」), and means 'after all that, in the end ...'. After long hesitation, quarrelling or trouble, the result is a bad or regrettable one: 「さんざん迷ったあげく、諦めた」 (After dithering for ages, I gave up).

Mixed up with

「あげく」 is followed by a bad result almost every time; a happy ending is wrong: not 「×苦労したあげく、大成功した」.

「末に」 is neutral: after long thought or struggle, a significant result, good or bad: 「苦労した末に、成功を収めた」 (After much hardship, I finally succeeded).
