How to tell them apart
「結果」: neutral, good or bad; it just follows cause and process.
「あげく」: almost always a bad outcome. 「散々迷ったあげく、買わなかった」 (After a lot of dithering, I didn't buy it).
「末に」: after a long struggle or deep thought, a major conclusion; good or bad.
