Regardless of, No matter what
I just couldn't resist, so I bought it.
Explanation
「どうしても」 has 3 uses
1No matter what
With a positive ending, a strong wish or need: 「どうしても行きたい」 (I really want to go).
I want to buy a souvenir no matter what.
If you want it no matter what, buy it yourself.
2Just can't
With a negative ending, no matter how you try it won't work: 「どうしても思い出せない」.
I just couldn't resist, so I bought it.
No matter what I do, this habit won't go away.
3Inevitably
Often 「〜と、どうしても〜」: when the first thing happens, the second always follows, beyond your control: 「食べるとどうしても眠くなる」.
If I eat too much before bed, I just can't sleep.
Whenever I drink milk, I get a stomach ache.
Mixed up with
「とても〜ない」: from the start the gap seems too big, impossible.
「どうしても〜ない」: you have tried many times and still cannot (you hit a wall along the way).
「ぜひ」 is a sincere request or hope (ぜひ来てください); 「どうしても」 is determination to get it done despite everything.
