Can't help but want to, Very, Extremely

I only slept for 3 hours last night, so I'm extremely sleepy.

Explanation

「てたまらない」 means 'so much I can't stand it'. A strong bodily sensation, pain or wish reaches the point where you can hardly hold it back. Typical examples: 「痛くて」, 「かゆくて」, 「寒くて」, 「眠くて」 (so painful, itchy, cold, sleepy that I can't bear it), and a strong wish: 「〜たくてたまらない」 (I'm dying to...). The subject is normally 'I'; for others add 「ようだ」 or 「がっている」.

Mixed up with

With 「〜たくて」 (want to do): choose 「たまらない」 (or 「しょうがない」).

With bodily discomfort (pain, itching, heat, cold): choose 「

With thinking words (「思える」, 「気がする」): never 「たまらない」; only 「てならない」.

Examples

I got bitten by a mosquito and it's unbearably itchy.

When I put pepper on it, I couldn't stop sneezing; it was unbearable.

The sound of the siren is so loud I can't stand it.
