Explanation
A verb in the て-form placed at the end of a sentence is 「〜てください」 with 「ください」 dropped: a casual request. 「ちょっと待って」 (Wait a moment), 「これ見て」 (Look at this). Use it only with family, a partner, close friends or younger people. The voice often rises slightly.
Mixed up with
Never use it with a boss, teacher or elder. 「×先生、これ読んで」 is very rude. Say 「〜てください」, or more politely 「〜ていただけますか」.
「ね」 or 「よ」 is often added to soften it: 「食べてね」, 「早くしてよ」.
It is not the command form (「〜ろ」 etc.), which is harsh. 「〜て」 is a friendly request, even when it hurries someone.
