N4
ても
Even if, Even though
Nothing will change even if you talk to him.
Explanation
「ても」 has 2 uses
1Even if
The result isn't affected by the condition, or goes against what you'd expect: 「雨が降っても、試合は行われます」 the game goes ahead even if it rains.
Even if I lose the game, I won't quit.
Nothing will change even if you talk to him.
2No matter how / who
With a question word, the result is the same whatever happens: 「何度読んでも分からない」 however many times I read it, I don't get it.
No matter how many times I call, Tanaka doesn't pick up.
However fast we hurry, we won't make it now.
Mixed up with
「たら」, 「ば」 and 「と」 mean 'if A, then B'. 「ても」 means 'even if A, still B'. The logic points the opposite way.
It often goes with 「いくら」, 「どんなに」 and 「たとえ」: 「たとえ反対されても、行きます」 (Even if they object, I will go).
When the て-form ends in 「で」, adding 「も」 gives 「でも」.
