お~ください

Please do (Honorific)

こちらのスリッパをお使つかいください。

Please use these slippers over here.

Explanation

「お〜ください」 is a polite request that sounds softer and more formal than 「〜てください」. It is common in announcements, signs and when receiving guests: 「こちらにお座りください」 (Please sit here). Form: 「お+verb stem+ください」; for a Chinese-origin word plus する use 「ご〜ください」: 「ご注意ください」.

Mixed up with

Verbs with a special honorific use it instead: 見る→ご覧ください (not 「×お見ください」); 食べる/飲む→召し上がってください; 来る→お越しください.

Single-kana verbs cannot use it, e.g. 「×お寝ください」.

At work you can go further: 「お〜いただけますでしょうか」.
