N4
なさる
To do (Honorific)
週末もお仕事をなさるのですか。
Are you going to work over the weekend also?
Explanation
「なさる」 is the honorific of 「する」, used for what the other person does: 「どうなさいますか」 (What would you like to do?). Before 「ます」 it becomes 「なさいます」, not 「×なさります」. It also follows nouns: 「ご利用なさる」, 「お待ちなさる」. The command 「なさい」 is an order from above; the more polite form is 「なさってください」.
Mixed up with
Four honorific verbs change 「る」 to 「い」 before 「ます」: なさる→なさいます; いらっしゃる→いらっしゃいます; おっしゃる→おっしゃいます; くださる→くださいます. Exams ask this often.
Use 「なさる」 for the other person's action and 「いたす」 for your own: 「私がいたします」. Do not swap them.
