I humbly do, I am obliged to do, Humble speech

I will check right now.

Explanation

「お〜する」 is humble speech: the speaker lowers their own action to raise the other person: 「重そうですね。 (That looks heavy. Shall I carry your bag?). Form: 「お+verb stem+する」; for a Chinese-origin word plus する use 「ご〜する」: 「ご案内します」. A more polite version is 「お〜いたします」.

Mixed up with

The action must be directed at, or done for, the person you respect. For something you do alone (getting up, eating), you cannot use 「

Do not mix them up: 「お読みになる」 raises the other person (you read); 「お読みする」 lowers yourself (I read to you). Saying 「×先生がお読みしました」 to a teacher is a serious honorific mistake.

At work 「する」 is often upgraded to 「いたします」: 「お持ちいたします」.

Examples

I'll get one for the teacher too.

Please give this to the president.

I'll close the door for you.
