ウサイン・ボルトは速く走れることで有名です。
Usain Bolt is famous for being able to run fast.
Explanation
「AはBで有名だ」 means 'A is famous for B'; 「で」 marks the reason for the fame. When B is a noun, just add it: 「富士山は美しい景色で有名だ」 (Mt. Fuji is famous for its beautiful scenery). When B is a verb or adjective phrase, turn it into a noun with 「こと」 first: 「足が速いことで有名だ」 (He is famous for being fast).
Mixed up with
「で有名」 names the reason, product or thing that made it famous: 「リンゴで有名」 (famous for apples).
「として有名」 names the role, status or category: 「小説家として有名」 (famous as a novelist). They are not interchangeable, and exams use them as distractors.
To nominalize a phrase, formal writing and exams use 「こと」, not 「ので有名」.
