こういう景色けしきを見みると生いきている甲斐かいがあると思おもう。

This kind of scenery makes me feel that life is worth living.

Explanation

「甲斐」 is the worth you get back for your effort. After a verb in the た form, or a noun + の, it means 'worth it': the energy, time or money was not wasted and it paid off: 「頑張った甲斐があった」 (My effort paid off). The verb stem also takes 「がい」: 「やりがいがある」 (rewarding to do). The negative 「甲斐がない」 means it was wasted effort.

Mixed up with

「～甲斐があって」: always followed by a good result. 「苦労した甲斐があって、夢が叶った」 (My hard work paid off and my dream came true).

「～甲斐もなく」: always followed by a sad result. 「治療の甲斐もなく、亡くなった」 (Despite the treatment, he passed away).

This pair of opposites is a frequent test point.

She is not worth teaching because she does not improve no matter how many times I give her advice.
