だけあって

Is only natural, …Being the case, Because, As might be expected

あのホテルは高たかいだけあって、サービスがとてもいい。

As one might expect, that hotel has great service because it is expensive.

Explanation

「だけあって」 means 'as you would expect of...'. The first part is someone's status, experience, training, price or reputation, and the second is an excellent result that fits it, with real admiration: 「留学していただけあって、発音がきれいだ」 (As expected of someone who studied abroad, his pronunciation is beautiful). It is only for praise; the result must be good. It cannot take a bad result: you cannot say 「×高いだけあってすぐ壊れた」.

Mixed up with

「〜だけあって」: usually in the first half, followed by the specific good result.

「〜だけのことはある」: usually at the end, as a closing comment of praise: 「彼の発音は見事だ。留学していただけのことはある」 (His pronunciation is superb. Studying abroad paid off).

The meaning is the same; only the position differs.
