Explanation

「が気になる」 means 'it bothers me, I can't stop thinking about it'. It takes 「が」 because the feeling comes to you on its own and you can't control it. It can be worry: 「明日の面接の結果が気になって、昨夜は一睡もできなかった」 (I kept wondering about tomorrow's interview result and didn't sleep at all last night); or curiosity: 「あの人の言動がどうしても気になる」 (I can't help noticing what that person says and does). It follows a noun, or a verb plus 「こと」 or 「の」.

「〜を気にする」: you mind it on purpose: 「人の目を気にする」 (care about what others think), 「細かいことを気にするな」 (don't sweat the small stuff).
