Explanation

「Nをものともせず」 means 'making nothing of N'. Facing a huge obstacle most people could not bear (a blizzard, serious illness, fierce opposition, many dangers), the person takes no notice, does not shrink back, and acts and overcomes it. 「吹雪をものともせず救助に向かった」 (He set off to rescue them, ignoring the blizzard), 「周囲の猛反対をものともせず、新事業を立ち上げた」 (Ignoring strong opposition all around, she started a new business). It praises another person's courage and grit. It is not normally used to boast about yourself; you cannot say 「私は病気をものともせず勝った」.
