わ〜わ
~and ~and, Keep ~ing, One after another, So much, So many, One after the other
もう、昨日子供達が喧嘩して泣くわ泣くわで大変だったんだから。
Oh my god, it was so hectic yesterday because the kids got into a fight and cried so much.
Explanation
「V-ru wa V-ru wa」 repeats the same verb and means 'one after another, so many that it's startling'.
Examples: 「出るわ出るわ」 (they just keep coming out), 「食べるわ食べるわ」 (he ate and ate), 「泣くわ泣くわ」 (she cried and cried).
With two different verbs it lists bad things happening one after another: 「殴るわ蹴るわの大騒ぎ」 (punching and kicking), 「雨は降るわ風は吹くわで散々だった」 (it rained and the wind blew; it was awful).
The speaker sounds amazed, astonished or helpless. It is vivid spoken Japanese.
Mixed up with
「〜たり〜たり」: neutrally lists actions that alternate, as in 「行ったり来たりする」 (go back and forth).
「〜わ〜わ」: emotional; it highlights an astonishing amount or frequency that leaves you speechless.
