Explanation

「にもまして」 means 'even more than ...'. The first thing is already high, and the second goes beyond it.

Common phrases: 「何にもまして」 (more than anything, above all), 「誰にもまして」 (more than anyone), 「以前にもまして」 (more than before), 「いつにもまして」 (more than usual), 「去年にもまして」 (more than last year).

「今年は去年にもまして暑い」 (This year is even hotter than last year).

Mixed up with

「にもまして」: the first thing is already high, and the second goes further; more emotional.

「より」: an ordinary neutral comparison (A is bigger than B), not assuming the first is already high.

「に比べて」: focuses on comparing objective figures or qualities.
