Explanation

「かれ〜かれ」 puts the stems of two opposite i-adjectives side by side and means 'either way, the result is the same'.

「遅かれ早かれ真実は明らかになる」 (Sooner or later the truth will come out).

It is now a fixed phrase, so you cannot make new ones freely.

Mixed up with

You cannot swap in other adjectives. If a question shows 「遅かれ（　）かれ」, the only answer is 「早」.

The related 「良かれと思って」 means 'meaning well (but it backfired)', and often appears in N1 reading.
