てみる

To try to

本当ほんとうにおいしいの?今度こんど食たべてみるよ!

Is it really delicious? Next time I'll try it!

Explanation

「〜てみる」 means 'try doing and see'. You do not know the result, so you do it once to check or to experience it yourself: 「食べてみる」 (try eating it), 「着てみる」 (try it on), 「行ってみる」 (go and see), 「聞いてみる」 (try asking).

Mixed up with

In the sense of 'try' it is normally written in kana, 「〜てみる」. The kanji 「見る」 is for actual looking: 「テレビを見てみる」 (try watching TV).

It often appears as 「〜てみたい」 (want to try) and 「〜てみてください」 (please try), both common in listening.
