Explanation

「次第に」 means 'gradually': things change little by little over time, before you notice. It must be followed by a word of change: 「次第に暖かくなる」 (it gets gradually warmer), 「次第に回復する」 (recover gradually), 「次第に記憶が薄れる」 (the memory fades little by little). It cannot go with an action that finishes in an instant.

「だんだん」: the plainest everyday word, for changes in weather or how you feel: 「だんだん寒くなってきた」.

「次第に」: a bit more formal, an objective change over time: 「事態は次第に好転している」 (The situation is gradually improving).

「徐々に」: stresses a slow, steady change: 「スピードを徐々に落とす」 (slow down gradually).
