Explanation

「のももっともだ」 means 'it is quite reasonable that...'. Once you know the background, you understand and agree with someone's reaction or feeling: 「あんなひどいことを言われたら、彼女が怒るのももっともだ」 (After being told something so awful, no wonder she is angry). The earlier clause usually gives the reason. What follows is mostly an emotional reaction, a complaint or a feeling, not a law of nature. Noun: 「Nももっともだ」; na-adjective: 「なのももっともだ」.

Mixed up with

「のももっともだ」: the most sympathetic; you put yourself in their place and fully agree.

「のは当然だ／当たり前だ」: more objective and stiff; it should be so by rule or common sense.
