1Direct orders

2Cheering on
Cheering someone on in a game or race: 「頑張れ！」 go for it!, 「走れ！」 run! It isn't really an order.

3Reporting an order
「Imperative + と言われた」 reports what someone told you to do: 「先生に本を読めと言われた」 the teacher told me to read the book.
先生に早く宿題を出せと言われた。
The teacher told me to hand in my homework quickly.
父に「もっと野菜を食べろ」と言われた。
My father told me to eat more vegetables.
