あんだけダブルチェックをするように言ったのに、この始末だ。
I told him so many times to double check, but this is the result.
Explanation
「〜始末だ」 means 'it ends up as ...' (a bad outcome). Things got worse again and again, warnings did not help, and the result is a sorry, embarrassing end, said with a sigh or dissatisfaction: 「あれほど注意したのに、この始末だ」 (I warned you so much, and look how it turned out). It often goes with 「とうとう」, 「ついには」, 「あげくの果てに」 or 「しまいに」. 「この始末だ」 and 「その始末だ」 can end a sentence by themselves to express anger.
Mixed up with
「〜始末だ」: at the end of a sentence; passes judgment on the whole bad result, 'it has come to this', with anger and helplessness.
「〜挙げ句(の果てに)」: after a long struggle, a bad result; often used mid-sentence to link to what follows.
「〜末に」: neutral; a result after long effort or worry, good or bad, e.g. 「努力の末に成功した」.
