「に」 has 3 uses
1Where something is
Where someone or something is, often followed by ある, いる or 住む: 「机の上に本がある」, 「大阪に住んでいる」.
彼はあそこにいます。
He is at that place over there.
私は家にいます。
I'm at home.
2Where you arrive
Where you go, put something or sit down: 「学校に行く」 (go to school), 「椅子に座る」 (sit on a chair).
公園に行く。
To go to the park.
バスに乗る。
To get on the bus.
3At a set time
After a clock time, a date or a day of the week: 「7時に起きる」 (get up at seven), 「月曜日に会う」 (meet on Monday).
私は誕生日にケーキを食べる。
I eat cake on my birthday.
毎朝六時に起きます。
